Haruhi Fujioka is a bright scholarship candidate with no rank or title to speak of—a rare species at Ouran High School, an elite academy for students of high pedigree. When she opens the door to Music Room #3 hoping to find a quiet place to study, Haruhi unexpectedly stumbles upon the Host Club. Led by the princely Tamaki, the club—whose other members include the “Shadow King” Kyouya, the mischievous Hitachiin twins, and the childlike Haninozuka “Honey” and his strong protector Mori—is where handsome boys with too much time on their hands entertain the girls in the academy.
In a frantic attempt to remove herself from the hosts, Haruhi ends up breaking a vase worth eight million yen and is forced into becoming the eccentric group’s general errand boy to repay her enormous debt. However, thanks to her convincingly masculine appearance, her naturally genial disposition toward girls, and fascinating commoner status, she is soon promoted to full-time male host and plunged headlong into a glitzy whirlwind of elaborate cosplays, rich food, and exciting shenanigans that only the immensely wealthy Ouran Host Club can pull off.

This anime is one of the best romance anime I’ve ever watched! The anime was very hilarious all throughout! After watching the last episode, I was not that satisfied with the ending so I read the manga and it was even funnier than the anime. I like how the manga continued the story that was left out in the anime. The manga revealed the main characters’ family and their relationship with them. Though there were some differences between the anime and manga, it was not a big deal. I like how each character improved their personality as the story went on. I was very amused in each episode and chapter. Especially with the commoner thingy lol. Tamaki Suoh was very fascinated with Japanese culture and commoner-related things to the point that he was being stupid.
As for the characters, I love them all! I love that Takashi Morinozuka has more lines and scenes in the manga than in the anime because he deserve it. I also love Mitsukuni Haninozuka especially his mature personality when it comes to his friends despite his childish appearance. Though I find his like of sweets a bit exaggerated haha. I also ship him with Reiko Kanazuki because they were so cute lol. I definitely love the Hiitachin Brothers, Hikaru and Kaoru. I love their twisted personality before they met Tamaki. I was sad when I learned their past where people can’t tell them apart and I think that’s what drove them to disassociate themselves with other people. But I’m glad that they had overcome their fear of trusting people and learned to let people become a part of their lives. Though it led them to being mischievous all the time. The most interesting part was that both of them fell in love to Haruhi Fujioka. For me, this is the most crucial part in the growth and maturity of the twins because they learned how to be considerate to other’s feelings and deal with their own problems. As for Kyoya Ootori, I was very interested by the way he calculates everything and making sure that it was for his own advantage. But despite of his scheming personality, he was very kind and considerate to all of the club members. Near at the end of the manga, I was moved by the way he defended Tamaki’s feelings to Yuzuru Suoh. I think Kyoya feels kind of indebted and very grateful to Tamaki because if not for him, he would’ve still been hiding in the shadow of his brothers. In the last chapter of the manga, it was hinted that Kyoya had also developed feelings for Haruhi (I didn’t see this coming). Though he denies it, it is possible that he like Haruhi but decided not to pursue it because his friendship with Tamaki was very important to him. As for Tamaki Suoh, I think he was the most interesting character among all the Host Club members. At first glance, he seemed to be just some stupid person who likes to meddle with other people’s affairs but in truth, he just wanted to help and make them happy. For example, most of the problems occurred in the anime and manga were about relationships in a family and friends. Since Tamaki was separated from his mother and his grandmother hated him, he has the tendency to help other people to mend their relationships within their family. It was stated in the anime that Tamaki didn’t had much friends back in France because his mother was always sick. That could be the reason why Tamaki really gives importance to the Host Club members as well as the other students of Ouran Academy. Though he has a sad background, he really was the most stupid character lol. Especially when he thought of Haruhi as his “daughter.” He was completely unaware of it and if not for Hikaru, he wouldn’t realize his feelings. And lastly, Fujioka Haruhi. I think she was the character that changed the most. From being a stone-hearted, I-don’t-care personality, to a considerate, loving person. For me, the most interesting development for her character was that when she realized her feelings for Tamaki. She even mistook it for some disease lol. But eventually, she acknowledged and confessed her feelings to him and the two started dating.
The anime was really good as well as the manga so I recommend that you either watch or read it. Anyway, the plot was all good and I’m really satisfied with it. It is better if you read the manga since it was much more complete than the anime and has more interesting storylines.
